Sorry about not getting stuff up here lately, but here's the OFFICIAL list from DPS by way of the Nevada Sheriff's and Chiefs Association:
Alaska, Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Nebraska, Tennessee and Utah.
Remember that this is not necessarily reciprocity, but rather that the above states' CCW will now be recognized in Nevada. As we know our CCW is recognized in a lot more states than this. It's a step in the right direction, but don't look for many more states to be added now or in the future. This goes into effect 10/1/2007
The NSCA will probably not consider any more until at least the fall of 2008.

At least Utah's on the list. That'll allow people to apply. They still have a hell of a backlog, though.

Are non-resident Utah permits recognized, for sure?
Where's Texas? You'd think that one would for sure be recognized!
At least this is some progress.
As far as I can tell, the new statute and subsequent approvals make no differentiation between resident and non resident CCW's from the approved states.
What I heard was that the NCSA rejected Texas because they allow one to carry any semiauto without qualifiying on each and every one as Nevada requires.
Wow, a whole eight states made the cut!
That's still eight more than I expected, and few enough to confirm my earlier objections to allowing NCSA to have the final say on who gets approved or not.
I find it interesting that Alaska made the list, we can look for a clarification soon to the effect that only those Alaska residents who have a FORMAL CCW permit are recognized.
Alaska recently expanded CCW to all it's law abiding residents, without any need of a formal permit, as Nevada should do.
The other step we need to support is National CCW, the necessary legislation is languishing in congress, but could be made to move with enough national activism.
I'm no expert but I don't think Utah has any weapon-specific requirement. One thing Utah does have that I think Arizona doesn't have is a mental health clearance.
Unfortunatly you still need a Nevada CCW if you are a Nevada resident. If not it would be much cheaper to just get a Utah CCW and be good virtually everywhere.
