VIN SUPRYNOWICZ…I hope that this is a name that you are familiar with. He is the Assistant Editorial Page Editor for the Las Vegas Review-Journal as well as a noted Libertarian author and columnist. For the last two weeks Vin has written outstanding columns appearing in the R-J about one of his favorite topics, the right to keep and bear arms.
In the column two weeks ago titled: “And Every Other Terrible Instrument” (click HERE to read it) and in this week’s column titled: “Running up and down with guns” (click HERE to it) Vin expounds on the Heller case that recently went before the U.S. Supreme Court and the debate currently going on in Congress regarding the ability for citizens to carry firearms in National Parks. I must commend him on his topic selections. Both of these issues are vital to the freedom of all Americans.
Where I have a problem with both of these excellent columns is that Vin doesn’t bring it home. It appears that our local voice for the Constitution and the rights and freedoms guaranteed in it sees the big picture, but is ignoring his own neighborhood! The old saying that “All politics is local” seems to be alien to Vin! If we can’t get the unconstitutional ordinances that plague us here in Clark County changed then how in the world are we going to stop legislation that emanates from our nation’s capital?
I encourage everyone that believes that freedom starts at home to write or email Vin Suprynowicz at the Review-Journal and encourage him to now take his argument one step further. Please encourage him to now take up the illegal firearm ordinances here in Clark County. From the reading you have done here at Section 11 you know them. The concealable handgun registration ordinance. The Pistol Permit ordinance. The sporting purpose/job related ordinance in NLV. And on and on.
Let Vin know that if he really wishes to make his case, he now has to connect the dots from the Second Amendment to Article 1, Section 11 of the Nevada State Constitution to reality in Clark County. Now that, my friends, will make one fabulous column!!
WE MUST REMAIN EVER VIGILANT…EVER WATCHFUL

More evidence that National Chains and local business interests are trying to control the public's perception of Firearm Owners.
If Vin is interested in actually making a change, then it's time he dug out from the bureaucratic paperwork crowding his view of Nevada reality that we as firearm owners face daily, particularly in Clark County.
Time to experience and tackle not only the laws but how businesses are attempting to become "Politically Correct" by refusing to meet the needs of Firearm Owners here in Clark County while lining their corporate pockets with firearm owners shrinking dollars.
Come on Vin, lets take the next step.
